About the Book

On July 17, 2009, Smith ended his email to db with a haiku. A week later, Smith’s valediction ended with “-ing-ly,” beginning a tradition between the two friends that lasted three years. Collected here, for better or worse, are the haikus and valedictions that closed each email. Sometimes vulgar, sometimes witty. Sometimes alcohol-fueled.
