This is a tough one for me. I lovelovelove these stop-motion films. The talent and skill and artistry that goes into them… And this hits all the right genre notes but somehow just misses.

I love Coraline (and she reminds me of Elizabeth, of course) and the whole “other” side and even Wybie (who I never knew was supposed to be black). But it tends to lose me around the middle, and I fall asleep. And wake up to all kinds of weird.

Super great, still, and practical wins over CGI any day.
