Thirteen, a UK-based horror magazine, has published “The Bet”, a short story by Michael Dunn. The story was originally written in 1987 after Dunn’s wife detailed a recurring nightmare. The story was re-written in 1995. This is the first professionally-published story by Michael Dunn. “The Bet” is an account of a wager between two men on the fate of a young woman.
