πŸŽƒ An American Haunting β˜…β˜…Β½

The performances were great, but the story was… well, it’s been told a million times, and there wasn’t really anything new here except an odd incest/rape revelation.

πŸŽƒ Diabolique β˜…β˜…β˜…

I wasn’t a fan of the remake, but watching this, I want to see it updated. I don’t know if it was because they talked too fast that I had trouble keeping up with the subtitles (especially when I’m trying to watch the film). But good tension and performances, and when she dies and curls […]

πŸŽƒ Eli Roth’s History of Horror S2E1: Houses of Hell β˜…β˜…β˜…

A bit of a stretch some of the films they include in “HOUSES” of hell, like Misery. Really? Felt a little smaller in scope.

πŸŽƒ Leatherface: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre III β˜…β˜…β˜…

Well, after all the bad shorts and disappointments, I went for something fairly tried and true (though in no way a guarantee it’d be good) with one of the 3 Texas Chainsaw Massacre films I haven’t seen (the 2017 Leatherface will NEVER be watched all the way through; I turned it off about 30 minutes […]

πŸŽƒ Monsterland (S1E1) Port Fourchon β˜…β˜… and (S1E2) Eugene, Oregon β˜…β˜…

πŸŽƒ Bite Size Horror (S1E3) Reborn β˜…, (S1E4) Devil Vac β˜… and (S1E5) Mondays β˜…

Continuing to suck. The Reborn episode wasn’t too bad, but it’s not an original idea and didn’t go anywhere. Just a pitch of an idea.

πŸŽƒ Trick ’r Treat β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜…Β½

Was gonna save this for a little later, closer to Halloween, but I couldn’t wait. So much good stuff here: the intertwined stories, the mood and tone and feel and look, the acting’s great, the balance between horror and fun… Pretty frickin’ perfect.

πŸŽƒ The Prophecy II β˜…β˜…

Better than I feared it would be but not great. Uninspired directing, I think. Still love angels, though. And that perch is so nice.

πŸŽƒ Friday the 13th: Vengeance β˜…Β½

Kudos for getting the film made and getting a handful of Friday the 13th alumni to come along, but damn this was bad. I forget how bad acting can get until there’s a stinker like this.

πŸŽƒ Halloween II (2009) β˜…β˜…Β½

I remember liking this more but, at the same time, didn’t find Scout Taylor Compton to be nearly as annoying as before. While most people hate the Rob Zombie entries, particularly this one, I actually prefer this to the original story-wise since there wasn’t a need to follow a previous script (although the beginning with […]
